
The number of new infections has now reached its highest level in four months.
The health authorities registered 105 new cases, a total which now stands at 8,369.
Currently some 849 people in the region are infected with COVID-19. The number of deaths remained unchanged at 242.
The highest number of infections in the last seven days has occurred in Speyer, with 24 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This is followed by the district of Bad Kreuznach with 22 cases and the city of Ludwigshafen with 19 cases.
According to the Trier-Saarburg City Council and the Trier-Saarburg district administration, four further cases of COVID-19 were reported to the health department on Wednesday.
Three in the city of Trier and one from the district of Trier-Saarburg.

This brings the number of people found to be infected with the Corona virus since 11 March to 426 (269 in the district and 157 in the city of Trier).
