Local fire services, supported by Villerupt fire fighters, were called to a fire at a house in Audun-le-Tiche at 6.30pm on Boxing Day.
The fire was caused by a lamp which overheated and quickly spread to surrounding furniture.
The occupants of the house suffered smoke inhalation and were taken care of by emergency services from Hayange without being hospitalised. Fire fighters were able to contain the fire.
