Grand Duke Guillaume has been named Honorary Chair of the World Scout Foundation, a recognition of his long-standing commitment to the Scout movement, conferred by Swedish King Carl Gustaf in Stockholm.

Grand Duke Guillaume attended the annual meeting of the World Scout Foundation and the 78th World Baden-Powell Fellowship event in Stockholm, Sweden, from 7 to 9 May.

On the occasion, Swedish King Carl Gustaf officially conferred the honorary chairmanship of the World Scout Foundation upon the Grand Duke, as the court confirmed in a statement. Guillaume has long been involved in the Scout movement and has served the World Scout Foundation over many years, including as President of the the foundation's Board.

The Honorary Chair is a representative role, the primary purpose of which is to promote the international visibility and support of the Scout movement worldwide.
