UNION PRESIDENT – Patrick Dury has been re-elected as president of the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), warning that the country’s social model is “under attack”. He said that the prime minister’s current course of action will likely provoke a “frontal collision” with unions, calling on the LCGB to ready for action in the coming months.

FRAUD ALERT – The police have received several reports of people being contacted by people claiming to be bank employees in recent days. The fraudsters allegedly informed victims that a large sum of money had been withdrawn using their bank cards. To resolve the issue, they claimed that bank representatives or police officers needed to collect the card and verify the PIN. The police would like to remind the public that neither banks nor government authorities ever ask anyone to hand over their cards or access credentials to strangers.

Weather

So we are getting a bit of snow this morning – up to 1 cm, in fact – which will quickly turn to rain for the rest of the day. There’s no let up to the clouds and rain for the day, but there is a forecast of a spot of sun tomorrow, so let’s just get through this Monday. Temperature-wise the morning begins with -1 to 2°C, and by the afternoon it’ll warm up to 1 to 5°C.
