This was reported in German newspaper Volksfreund, who say that the family were brought to the Mutterhaus hospital by ambulance, were they were met by staff in face masks and protective clothing who took them to the accidents and emergencies department. The hospital’s medical director, Christian Spenger, told Volkesfreund that he was expecting final results from the tests on Monday.

Another patient has also been hospitalised with a suspected coronavirus infection at the Brüderkrankenhaus hospital in Trier since Friday, and 17 people from the Technical University in Kaiserslautern are also being tested and have been put in quarantine.

It should be noted that tests are commonplace, and many patients are tested at hospitals in the greater area every day - so far none have come back positive.
