According to the government, tourists “will only need to bear the cost of their airport transfer and repatriation flight”.
“The hit is massive, and we are trying to do our best now and do what we can for the remainder of the season. We have worked extremely hard to keep the virus in check here,” deputy tourism minister Savvas Perdios said.
A 100-bed hospital will also be set aside for infected tourists, as well as what they called “quarantine hotels” for their families.
As of this Saturday, Cyprus has recorded 942 coronavirus cases and 17 deaths.
