Contrary to what is being communicated on a map circulating the social media landscape, no date for a lifting of the confinement has been found or announced yet.
The document has several governmental marks and looks convincing enough to even have fooled a news outlet. It depicts a variety of dates for a potential lifting of the lockdown in the different regions of the country.
According to the falsified statement, the eastern and southern regions of France were to be the first to return to the ordinary, with central regions following closely after in May. The map is completely made-up however, as no provisional date for a stopping of the confinement can yet be set.
Premier Minister Edouard Philippe stressed that although plans had already been created for a step-by-step return to normal life, there was no decision an a particular date. “We are preparing, which does not mean that we are ready just yet. We are taking technical, scientific, and logistic precautions to be ready when the time has come.”
