Authorities were informed on Wednesday of the presence of a vehicle thought to be containing an explosive device near the Centre de Ressources Autisme de Lorraine (CRA).

At around 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon an area was cordoned off around the Centre de Ressources Autisme de Lorraine (CRA), following a call indicating the presence of a car containing a bomb.

The Direction départementale de la sécurité publique (DDSP - Police) immediately set up a security perimeter in the Metz-Queuleu area, resulting in the closure of Fort de Queuleu street and rue de Vercly.

According to the Lorraine media, a dozen police officers, fifteen firefighters and a bomb disposal team were mobilized on the spot.

The operation that ended shortly after 7pm, and, according to the information provided by Lorraine news services, it was only a hoax.

Investigators are now looking to identify who made the call and are tracing the owner of the line from which the call was made.
