While closed doors did not put an end to the zoo’s internal activity, management waited impatiently to welcome visitors once more.
Far from sitting on their hands, Amnéville Zoo took advantage of the lockdown period to ensure the park met the new necessary standards of safety and comfort. The reopening date is set for Friday, June 5.
The new safety measures include a new entrance, and a new limit on the number of visitors to the zoo at any given time. In addition to that, customers need to pre-book a time slot online to visit the zoo, and when there, they need to follow a specific one-way system through the park. The wearing of masks is recommended and animals are also not allowed to be fed.
Since the various shows and entertainment cannot take place without breaching distance and safety measures, the price of tickets has also been lowered until these can resume.
Finally, the zoo has allocated 10,000 free entrance tickets to healthcare staff.
