The accident occurred on the Metz-bound A31 near Thionville. The motorway has been closed after the accident. Long tailbacks reaching back almost to the Luxembourg border have already formed.
According to the Républicain Lorrain, four people were injured in the accident.
Drivers should avoid this motorway for the time being.
