According to the Bitburg police department in Germany, authorities are currently searching for two to four individuals who fled from a police checkpoint on Sunday evening, warning people not to offer lifts to strangers.

The incident occurred in the Karlshausen area, just 20km from the Luxembourg border. Police state that the suspects are believed to have committed what are referred to as "property-related offences".

Anyone who sees suspicious individuals or vehicles in the vicinity of Neuerburg, Karlshausen, or near the Luxembourg border is asked to contact the police immediately on +49 6561 - 96850. The public is also urged not to offer lifts to any strangers.

The Bitburg police believe the suspects may be hiding in wooded areas, sheds, or barns.
