After more than three months of maintenance work, all four reactors at the Cattenom nuclear power plant are operating again.
Production unit 3 of the Cattenom nuclear power plant has been reconnected to the national power grid, after more than three months of maintenance works. The planned outage that began on May 10, allowed for a partial renewal of the fuel and for over 14.000 control and maintenance operations, according to a press release from the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
This operation also included 35 technical modifications to the facility in order to "to further enhance the reactor's safety level". As of September 1, all four nuclear production units are back in service and powering the electricity grid.
