A cat might be a more typical sight on a garage roof three meters high, but a pot-bellied pig? That's exactly what happened in Oldisleben, Thuringia, on Saturday.
The woman was likely shocked to find a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, an endangered pig race, three meters up on her garage roof. How the animal got there remains a mystery, both to her and to the police in Nordhausen.
Firefighters were called to rescue the pig, which was later examined by a veterinarian and taken to an animal shelter. Authorities suspect that unknown individuals placed the pot-bellied pig on the roof, leaving it there. A complaint has been filed for violations of animal protection laws and trespassing.
