The regional health agency has issued a statement saying that “the situation is getting worse” in the Grand Est and “it is therefore more than essential to limit travel and strictly comply with lockdown measures”.

On Friday afternoon, the agency issued a new report confirming 105 deaths and 1,551 hospitalisations related to the coronavirus epidemic.

The statement said that 352 patients are currently in intensive care, making it a real possibility that we will see a further increase to the death toll this weekend.

We also know that approximately 9% of patients who are currently in intensive care are less than 60 years old.
