
The bomb was found in the Euren neighbourhood, not far from Wasserbillig, on Tuesday.
After 24 hours of deliberations, Trier authorities have decided to evacuate the area where the bomb was discovered.
A section of the Trier-Euren district will be evacuated on Sunday at 12.30pm. The 2,300 residents affected will have to leave the established security perimeter by 11am.
Police, fire fighters and bomb disposal experts will participate in the operation. Volunteer fire fighters began distributing informative notices to residents on Wednesday evening.
