These were 15 colleagues of the 32-year-old infected with the COVID-19 virus who have worked with him while at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University (TU) Kaiserslautern.
Two roommates of the infected person have also been placed in precautionary quarantine, the TU Vice President Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter and a spokeswoman for the Kaiserslautern district administration said on Friday.
According to reports in German press WELT and Das Bild, of the two roommates, one is reportedly a student of the TU, the other a teacher at a school in Landstuhl.
The 17 people were examined thoroughly and the test results are now with the state investigation office in Koblenz.
