Reckless driving16-year-old driver caught after hit and run in Germany

Police in Bergisch-Gladbach reported Wednesday that, after a police officer wanted to check the car on a country road late Tuesday afternoon, the drive accelerated and drove off. The officer called for backup and began the pursuit on his motorcycle, but lost sight of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, in Kürten, the reckless driver slightly injured a 25-year-old on a yard, who had to jump aside.

Later, the car stopped and a 14-year-old climbed out of the passenger door. He driver then reversed the car, slightly injuring his passenger. He bumped into the police motorcycle, stepped out the car and made a run for it with the 14-year-old and another teenager.

All three were eventually caught. The two passengers were handed over to their parents. The driver is now being investigated for driving driving without a license, hit and run, bodily harm, endangering road traffic and prohibited racing.
