By 2pm on 29 March, 3,940 people had been hospitalised in the Grand Est region, including 774 in intensive care. 40 patients were transferred to hospitals across the country and in neighbouring countries over the weekend.
1,357 patients have been discharged from hospital since the start of the epidemic.
The total number of fatalities has now reached 816 in the region.
This includes people who tested positive for Covid-19, as well as patients who were not tested but thought to have succumbed to the virus.
It is still advised to remain in confinement at home where possible, and to limit outdoor travel while respecting the guidelines in place.
