Acording to the British Geological Survey (BGS), Scotland experienced a “very small earthquake” after a final minute strike from the half-way line by midfielder Kenny McClean launched a country into the air in joy as the Tartan Army’s presence at next year’s World Cup in USA, Canadan, and Mexico was secured.
The BGS station based at Dalmarnock – about 1.2 miles from Hampden Stadium – said the fans celebrating registered -1 on the richter scale.
Fans have since been joking authorities might consider keeping the Tartan Army away from California to avoid the risk of them triggering a major quake on the San Andreas fault if Scotland reach the World Cup group stage for the first time.
