Las Vegas residents were startled this week as massive swarms of grasshoppers descended upon the city.

The winged insects may outnumber the humans in some parts of town, but it’s nothing to worry about.

CNN reports the pallid-winged grasshopper is a common desert species. Nevada state entomologist Jeff Knight said after wet winters or springs, grasshoppers will migrate up from Arizona.
