Reuters reports Germany is planning to ban the use of plastic bags.

That’s because voluntary agreements with retailers to curb usage haven’t produced good enough results. Environment Minister Svenja Schulze said on Sunday the goal was ‘to get out of the throw-away society. My ministry will get a plastic bag ban on its way.’
