700 bags of sweetsSt Nicholas parade regaled people on Sunday

On Sunday, St Nicholas was out and about across the country, including in Dudelange and Luxembourg City, bringing early Advent excitement to hundreds of children.

In Dudelange, the traditional procession set off from the Forge du Sud shortly after 2.30pm, with St Nicholas (Kleeschen in Luxembourgish) parading through the streets alongside his angels and the ever-intimidating sidekick “Houseker”.

Crowds lined the route, and families packed the town centre to catch a glimpse of the festive parade, which lasted around 45 minutes. According to the organisers, 25 local associations took part. The Syndicat d’Initiative was once again responsible for coordinating the event, distributing 700 bags of sweets to children along the way.
