
Police were called to the Gare neighbourhood of Luxembourg City on Sunday night following a reported robbery.
According to an official report, the incident began when three individuals shared a taxi to Dudelange. During the journey, an argument broke out, leading two of the passengers to physically assault the third. The assailants seized the victim’s mobile phone, leaving them with minor injuries.
The taxi driver intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation. At this point, the two aggressors turned on the driver, becoming threatening. The driver subsequently handed over the contents of the cash till.
The pair then exited the vehicle near Rue du Fort Neipperg.
Following an investigation, police identified one of the suspected perpetrators. The individual was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and brought before an examining magistrate on Monday afternoon.
