
On Friday 14 March, Luxembourg’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, made a historic visit to Bhutan, marking the first official visit from Luxembourg to the country. In addition to meeting with Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Bettel held a productive working session with Bhutanese Foreign Minister Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing the latest developments in both Asia and Europe.
They also explored specific opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on key areas such as finance, tourism, education, technological innovation, and sustainable development.
Together with Prime Minister Tobgay, Bettel visited the Royal Institute for Tourism and Hospitality, where Bettel engaged in a meaningful discussion with young individuals who had received significant training in this sector.
Afterward, Minister Bettel proceeded to New Delhi, India, where he participated in the multilateral Raisina Dialogue conference.
