The thief entered the building through a window and stole jewellery. As he continued to make his way through the apartment, he was spotted by the woman living there, after which he made his escape. He is described as being 1.60m and was wearing black clothes.
Meanwhile, in Bertrange, police identified and detained a man who illegally entered the country. Local residents alerted the police to a person entering a vacant building. Although the patrol unit could not find anyone inside upon arrival, they located the man in question soon after. The officers learned that the man lacked proper identification and had previously been flagged as not allowed in the Grand Duchy. After consultation, the police brought the man to a detention centre.
