Payconiq announced on Tuesday that its Luxembourg client portfolio will be transferred to the payment platform Buckaroo in early 2026.

The transition will pave the way for the launch of the Wero app in Luxembourg, currently anticipated for mid-2026. Buckaroo’s customers will gain access to Wero following its introduction. According to Payconiq, the launch will be enabled by a strategic partnership between Buckaroo, Payconiq International, and the European Payments Initiative (EPI).

Wero is designed to facilitate instant transfers across Europe, eliminating the current geographical restrictions faced by Payconiq users. The company’s statement also emphasised that the new system will maintain a high level of security.

Currently, Payconiq – formerly known as Digicash – is available to clients of Spuerkeess, POST, BIL, BGL, and Raiffeisen.
