The two shepherds travel through Luxembourg with their flock of more than 700 sheep. In the process, they contribute actively to the protection of nature. They travel through conservation areas and contribute towards biodiversity in the sense that their sheep travel from habitat to habitat.
The two were awarded with the "Hëllef fir d'Natur" (helping nature) prize, which is an award of €5,000.
The jury also awarded a special prize to the late Green politician Camille Gira. Gira was posthumously honoured for his work towards the conservation of nature in the Grand Duchy.
