25 June was the hottest day, with temperatures soaring to 30°C. This day was therefore also classified as a “heat day.” In addition, a total of 21 summer days were recorded, during which the temperature surpassed 25°C.

Furthermore, the region experienced a notable scarcity of rainfall during June, with only 22% of the normal precipitation. While the average rainfall for the month stands at 74 mm, last June witnessed a mere 16 mm.

In 1962, the conditions were even drier, with 4.6 mm of rainfall. The record for the month of June was set in 1997, with 191.1 mm of precipitation.

Only six days in June saw rainfall exceeding 1 mm, falling short of the typical count of ten. On 23 June, a substantial portion of the total rainfall, accounting for six of the 16 mm, occurred within a 24-hour period.

This dearth of rainfall has raised concerns among the agricultural sector, as it poses challenges for farming and nature conservation.

Contrary to expectations, the amount of sunshine received in June was less than usual. The Pescator weather station recorded a total of 209.5 hours of sunshine, a notable decline from the expected 240 hours of unobstructed sunlight during a typical June.

In addition, June proved to be a windy month, particularly on 22 June at Findel Airport. On this day, wind gusts reached a peak speed of 48 km/h. Although the wind remained consistently present, it did not reach stormy conditions.
