A new indexation adjustment entered into force on Monday, 1 June 2026, triggering a 2.5% increase in wages, salaries, and pensions across Luxembourg. The automatic mechanism was activated after the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) reported an annual inflation rate of 2.3% for May.
This pushed the six-month average above the required threshold, the condition needed for the indexation mechanism to take effect. More specifically, the sliding wage scale index will rise from 968.04 to 992.24 points.
The figures remain provisional, however, as the final inflation data for May will be published on 3 June, following the meeting of the relevant commission.
