Police have reported two separate mugging incidents in Luxembourg, one involving a knife threat in Pétange and a phone snatching in Kirchberg.

In their latest bulletin, the police reported two separate incidents that took place on Wednesday.

The first occurred during the afternoon on Route de Luxembourg in Pétange, where an individual assaulted and robbed an acquaintance inside a flat. The victim was taken to hospital as a precaution. Later that day, however, the victim contacted authorities again to report a further incident involving the same suspect, who had allegedly threatened them with a knife. A police patrol responded to the scene, where officers located and arrested the suspect and seized the knife. The individual is set to appear before an examining magistrate on Thursday.

A second mugging was reported on Wednesday evening near Avenue John F. Kennedy in Kirchberg. According to police, a pedestrian had their mobile phone snatched from their hand by an unknown culprit. An investigation has been opened.
