130 positive cases from 3,950 Covid-19 tests: these are the latest figures published by the National Health Directorate on Thursday evening. According to the last weekly review, three in four infected people were unvaccinated.

26 people are currently in hospital, five of them are in intensive care.

An estimated 10% of all Covid-19 patients still struggle with symptoms in their everyday life one month after an infection. Since mid-August, a pilot project by the National Health Directorate focussing on Long-Covid patients is underway at the thermal bath in Mondorf.

131 people are currently being considered as Long-Covid patients, with 44 already receiving treatment. The rest are still being diagnosed to make sure that they are actually suffering from Long-Covid.

This information was shared by Dr Gaston Schütz, the director of the Rehabilitation Centre, during an interview on RTL Radio on Friday morning.

Dr Schütz pointed out that there are up to 200 different symptoms Long-Covid patients may be experiencing, with the most prevalent problem being chronic fatigue. And at least a quarter of patients are also experiencing mental health problems, ranging from difficulty concentrating all the way to clinical depression.

An effective cure has not yet been developed. The current focus is on addressing the symptoms, according to Dr Schütz, who also points out that the large majority of Long-Covid patients are unvaccinated.
