According to a response by Minister of Labour Marc Spautz to a parliamentary question posed by Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) MPs Georges Engel and Mars Di Bartolomeo, almost two out of three individuals who reached the end of their unemployment benefit period managed to find a new job in the following three months.
The Ministry also noted that of those who lost their entitlement to unemployment benefit between 2022 and 2024, one third remain registered with the National Employment Agency (ADEM).
Over the past four years, between 6% and 8% of affected individuals have turned to the Social Inclusion Income (Revis) scheme for support.
Eligibility for unemployment benefit in Luxembourg requires having worked in the country for at least twelve months, with entitlements lasting up to one year. Individuals lose their right to benefits if they no longer meet the criteria, or if they refuse appropriate job offers or training opportunities.
