During the night leading into Friday, police received a report about two people who had attempted to pay with a stolen bank card at a shop in Luxembourg City's Gare district. One of the suspects was stopped shortly afterwards by a police patrol.

The second initially headed towards Avenue de la Liberté, but was later stopped on Rue de Strasbourg following a police search.

When the suspect was searched, officers found several bank cards in their possession. Investigations revealed that the cards had previously been stolen from their owner's car after it was broken into and searched. The cards were seized and subsequently returned to their rightful owner.

Investigations are ongoing, and reports were filed against both suspects.
