Shortly after noon on Friday, police were called to Rue de Strasbourg, in the capital's Gare district, after a public disturbance. On arrival, officers found two men restraining a third.

According to initial findings, the third man was suspected of having robbed a sporting goods store nearby moments earlier before fleeing the scene.

The suspect refused to cooperate with officers. After a medical examination, the public prosecutor ordered his detention, and he was brought before the examining magistrate on Saturday morning.

At around 2.30pm on Friday, police were alerted to a suspected robbery at a pharmacy in the same area. The tip-off came from a security guard at a neighbouring business, who told officers he had seen the suspect behaving in a similar manner in his own store shortly before.

The guard detained the man until police arrived and then handed him over. The individual was taken to the station for further processing.

Arrest for breaching an eviction order

At around 3.30pm, police were informed of a person at an address in Esch-sur-Alzette in defiance of an eviction order. According to police, the man left the premises before officers arrived, but a brief search located him nearby, visibly intoxicated.

On the orders of the public prosecutor, he was arrested and brought before an examining magistrate on Saturday morning.
