Police on Wednesday evening were called into action after two people were stabbed in Esch-sur-Alzette, while another patrol was forced to arrest a taser-wielding agitator in the capital.

In the night leading up to Thursday, two men with stab wounds, one of them critically injured, were admitted to the emergency room in a hospital in Esch. According to first pieces of information, the men were injured by a broken glass bottle during a fight in a café, but there was no risk of death.

Police launched an investigation and compiled a report.

During that same night, a police patrol in Luxembourg City was alerted to a fight near Hamilius, with one of those involved even having a taser on them. When the officers arrived at the scene, one of the agitators took flight. Later, the police were able to stop them and confiscate the taser.

Over the course of the investigation, it became clear that the man had been caught in the act after supposedly steeling a bottle of wine in a café. Afterwards, a fight had erupted during which one man had used the taser, but without injuring anyone. Considering that the man was a danger to himself and others because of his intoxicated condition, he was arrested.
