The driver was zigzagging and crossing onto the oncoming lane. Witnesses followed the driver to his home in Hellange. There they alerted the police. Once arrived, the officers noted that the driver had too much to drink and confiscated his licence.

Then at 6.30 am on the parking of the Echternach lake, a police patrol came across a car that had been reported by witnesses two hours earlier. The driver had been driving very slowly and zigzagging on a country road. The car was parked across multiple parking spots, and the driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel. He, too, tested positive for alcohol and had to hand in his licence.
