Police officers in Foetz stopped a motorist weaving slowly across the road at around 11pm on Christmas Day. When they pulled the vehicle over, they noticed a strong smell of alcohol from the interior. The driver refused to cooperate and had to be pulled out of the vehicle by the officers. He also refused to undergo a breathalyser test once they arrived at the police station, so had his licence provisionally confiscated as a result.
In Erpeldange, a police patrol came across a car parked up with a man asleep inside. However, the car engine was still running, the lights were on and the man was sitting behind the wheel in such a deep sleep that it took several attempts to wake him up. He eventually regained consciousness after officers forced the car door open. Initially, the man refused to cooperate, but eventually consented to a breathalyser test. He later had his licence confiscated following a positive result.
