Eventful dayTwo accidents leave five injured on A1 alone on Thursday

Thursday proved to be a busy day for the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), intervening a total of seven times to aid injured individuals on Luxembourg's roads. Additionally, two fire incidents were reported, resulting in one person sustaining injuries.

The first collision between two cars occurred around 12.30pm in Esch-sur-Alzette, leaving one person injured.

The A1 motorway witnessed several accidents in just over an hour. Shortly before 3pm, a collision between two cars heading towards Howald resulted in injuries to two individuals. The Findel ambulance service, along with the Luxembourg City and Hesperange fire brigades, were at the scene.

At approximately 4.18pm, the A1 near Senningerberg became the site of the second accident, involving four cars and injuring three people.

Simultaneously, in the Weimerskirch neighbourhood of Luxembourg City, a pedestrian was struck by a car. The ambulance service from Luxembourg City was on site.

Later in the evening, at around 6.40pm, a fire broke out on Route d’Arlon in Strassen, leading to injuries for one person in a flat. Ambulances from Mamer, along with fire brigades from Bertrange, Mamer, and Luxembourg City, were despatched.

Around the same time, the fire brigades of Mondercange and Schifflange responded to a fire in a chimney, resulting in only material damage.
