On Wednesday morning, 12 new petitions went online on the Chamber of Deputies’ dedicated website. Although the signature threshold for public petitions was raised from 4,500 to 5,500 on 15 March, this new requirement will only affect petitions filed after this date.
The 12 new ones are open for signature until 29 April and will be discussed by lawmakers if they cross the signature threshold. Under the new rules, the debate deadline has also been set to four months.
It is important to note that last Friday, the list of new petitions was briefly put online following an error by the Chamber.
