Multiple brands of baby formula have been pulled from shelves over the course of the last week.

On Monday, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) issued a notice warning of potential cereulide toxins in Gallia’s “Calisma Relais” powder formula.

Later on the same day, a statement confirmed two batches of Babybio Optima 1 formula had been recalled over the same issue.

The toxin can cause diarrhoea and vomiting if consumed. The products affected are designed for infants up to six months old.

The affected batch for the Gallia brand product is 111501972 with a best before date of 13/10/2026, and a barcode reading 3041091725943.

For Babybio powdered milk, two products are affected. The first is batch number 900035, best before 12/08/2027, and barcode 3288131584317. The second product is batch 894408, best before 09/07/2027 and barcode 3288131580319.
