Shortly before 2pm, officers observed a pair of individuals carrying out a suspected drug deal near Place de la Gare. The two suspects were searched and had drugs and a mobile phone confiscated. Further investigations revealed another accomplice carrying several plastic bags containing narcotics. Both dealers were arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office.

A short time later, a further police patrol spotted a drug deal taking place on Rue Joseph Junck. When officers approached the drug dealer, the individual tried to run away, but was taken into custody. An initial search yielded a mobile phone and cash, but officers suspected the man had swallowed drugs in an attempt to conceal incriminating evidence. He was subsequently taken for a scan, which revealed a number of foreign bodies in his stomach, and was later arrested by order of the public prosecutor.

Vehicle break-ins

Also in the capital, thieves broke into a vehicle at a car park on Route d’Esch on Thursday afternoon, smashing a window and stealing bank cards among other items.

At around 10.30pm a car on Boulevard Raiffeisen, Gasperich, was broken into, with intruders stealing two laptops, a smartphone and perfume.
