Raising awarenessThree people died in accidents while not wearing seatbelts in 2023

RTL Today
In the upcoming week, Luxembourg police are planning to organise several checks throughout the country to raise awareness to the fatal dangers of not wearing a seatbelt.

Not wearing a seatbelt puts you at high risk during an accident. Even if you are only in the car for a short period of time, the seatbelt is crucial.

In 2023, three people died in car accidents because they were not wearing their seatbelt. 11 people were severely injured as a result of this negligence.

According to the police, a person experiencing a car accident at a speed of 50km/h without wearing a seatbelt is the equivalent to falling from the third floor of a building. Naturally, children are an important factor, and they also must wear their belts: even if an accident occurs at 30km/h, it is fast enough for a child to be projected to the front of the car.
