In addition to three road accidents in which one person was injured each time, emergency services also had to deal with two fires.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reported several road accidents and two fires on Saturday.

At around 5.10pm, a vehicle hit an obstacle on Boulevard de la Recherche in Belvaux. One person was injured in the accident. Firefighters from Sanem-Differdange, as well as firefighters and an ambulance from Esch-sur-Alzette, were at the scene.

Between Hellange and Frisange, shortly after 8.30pm, another driver hit an object and was injured. Firefighters from Frisange and an ambulance from Bettembourg were called out.

During the night into Saturday, at 12.45am, an accident involving two cars occurred at the "Biff" roundabout in Bascharage. Firefighters from Käerjeng and Pétange, as well as an ambulance from Pétange, attended the scene. One person was taken to hospital.

There were also two fires on Saturday evening. At 8.45pm, a rubbish bin caught fire in Rue J.-P. Probst in Luxembourg City, while shortly before 10.30pm, hedges caught fire in Cité Jean Hientgen in Reisdorf.

Firefighters from Luxembourg City extinguished the first fire, while firefighters from Reisdorf quickly brought the second under control.
