President Eicher addressed a number of challenges that Luxembourgish municipalities face in the current day and age. He explained that they want to improve on the levels of communication, staff training, and representation of people's interests before the government. Eicher elaborated that these were the priority areas which a recent poll about the future of the union revealed.
Eicher also talked about how the union intends to promote more specialised workshops. Concrete steps have already been initiated with the help of a Whatsapp group, which unites all of the Grand Duchy's mayors. Eicher noted that there was also a need for an expansion of municipal social media networks to help improve communications.
