Luxembourg police reported three arrests on Saturday in connection with separate incidents.
The first arrest stemmed from a telephone scam reported on Thursday, in which a victim disclosed bank details, leading to the withdrawal of a large sum of money. Following an investigation, authorities identified a suspect who was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.
A second arrest occurred on Friday at around 5pm, after police were called to a shoplifting incident on Avenue John F. Kennedy in Kirchberg. Officers located the suspect at the scene, and the individual was subsequently arrested under the public prosecutor’s orders. The suspect appeared before an examining magistrate on Saturday morning.
Later that evening, a police patrol noticed a person near Avenue Monterey in Luxembourg City who fled upon seeing officers. The suspect was apprehended after a pursuit near Rue du Fort Rheinsheim. A search revealed drugs and cash, which were seized. Police also discovered an outstanding arrest warrant for the individual. After a medical evaluation, the person was transferred to Schrassig prison.
