On Sunday, a group of individuals attempted to steal a chain from a person's neck on Rue du Fossé in Luxembourg City – but the plan did not go as intended.
Police received reports of a robbery on Rue du Fossé in the Ville-Haute neighbourhood shortly before 3am on Sunday morning. According to initial accounts, a chain was snatched from the victim's neck.
The perpetrator and three accomplices then attempted to flee, but the victim's companion managed to detain one of the suspects – despite one of the accomplices deploying pepper spray.
A police patrol subsequently arrived at the scene and, following a brief search, apprehended two additional accomplices. During searches, officers seized drugs, mobile phones, and cash. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the three suspects were arrested and brought before an examining magistrate.
