Luxembourg police responded to separate incidents of theft and domestic violence on Friday and early Saturday morning.

On Friday afternoon, police in Luxembourg City were called to a shop on Avenue de la Gare following a report of theft at approximately 4.30pm.

Officers detained two suspects at the scene. Subsequent investigation revealed that one individual had prior dealings with police under a different identity. Following orders from the public prosecutor’s office, this suspect was arrested and brought before an examining magistrate on Saturday morning. The second suspect was issued a fine after their personal details were recorded.

In a separate incident early Saturday, police intervened in a family dispute that had escalated into violence in Biwer shortly after midnight.

One person of unspecified gender was struck during the altercation. By order of the public prosecutor’s office, the alleged perpetrator was required to leave the shared residence. The victim was taken to a hospital for a medical examination.
