The Left (déi Lénk) has criticised the government for failing to introduce concrete measures to protect workers from heat in the workplace.

In a parliamentary question, MP Marc Baum of The Left called for clear regulations, pointing out that such rules already exist in other countries.

In a statement, the party also noted that the Chamber of Employees had already made similar demands in February 2025. However, The Left regrets that, to this day, no binding regulations have been established in Luxembourg.

The opposition party is calling for national rules and an adaptation of the labour code. The Left stressed that climate change has had real-life consequences for some time and that the government has a responsibility to better protect the population.
