Following a no show for a good number of days, below the line comments on our social media pages were staring to get irate at the persistent false promise of snow.

FINALLY, the first taste of winter in Luxembourg has arrived.

While MétéoLux announced the imminent arrival of snow, or even a mixture of rain snow was to arrive over the weekend, the first flakes actually fell near the capital on Tuesday.

In Roodt-sur-Syre, just a few kilometers from Findel airport, residents discovered a light white coat lining their town when they woke up on Tuesday. Either that or the town has had a really bad dandruff breakout overnight.

These first snows have not ‘stuck’, so there should be no need for ‘panic’or an urge to sack off work and go sledging all day (shame). However, MétéoLux warns that the snow could stick on the road in places in high and lower lying areas and extra vigilance should be taken on the morning commute..

Further snowfall is anticipated for Tuesday morning (snow and sleet, in fact) as well as this afternoon.

Temperatures will vary, between -2 and 3 ° C.
