The victim was struck by an unknown perpetrator as he walked from Gaalgebierg towards the footbridge at around 4.15pm.
The thief took the young man’s jacket, trainers and other valuable items, leaving the victim with minor injuries. He was later taken to hospital for a check-up.
Police were later able to identify the attacker and conducted a search of the suspect’s home by order of the public prosecutor. The stolen goods were located and confiscated, and criminal charges were filed against the perpetrator.
